Our affiliate was established in 1998 for the purpose of building affordable homes in partnership with low income families in Gunnison County. 

Gunnison Valley Habitat for Humanity has completed ten units since 1998. We have built six single family homes on South 12th Street in Gunnison, a duplex in Crested Butte's Paradise Park development, and a duplex in Gunnison's Rock Creek Village development. Our goal is to complete and serve one new home and family a year.

Your generosity may be expressed through donations of land for building Habitat houses.  We would love to speak with you about your site and how families may benefit from your donation.

We encourage businesses and individuals to sponsor a home.  Recognition is given to all who sponsor and make a home part of their giving program.  You can offer sponsorship by making a significant contribution to the cost of a building site or to the direct cost of construction.  We would love to speak with you about your ability to contribute in this way to our building efforts.

We welcome your skills. We would love to have your work group, your church group, your community organization, even you and a group of your friends and neighbors volunteer to contribute to our building efforts.

You are our major source of construction funding as well as volunteer labor.

Information packages are available for groups wishing to contribute.  We require a minimum age of 16 for volunteers so long as all are supervised and capable of the work.  Our primary construction work period is late July through mid-October each year.
