Cars for HomesTM Steering more low-income families toward affordable homeownership opportunities, Habitat for Humanity of Montrose County is launching its "Cars for HomesTM" vehicle donation program. Cars for HomesTM takes donated cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, RVs and other vehicles and sells them to raise funds that help build simple, decent homes in Montrose. Donors can call the Cars for HomesTM toll-free number 1-877-277-HFHI(4344) or process their car donation online at www.carsforhomes.org. Donor contact, title and vehicle information is collected and, upon acceptance of the donation, arrangements are made for the vehicle, keys and title to be picked up for processing. Habitat for Humanity receives between 70 and 80 percent of the sales proceeds after towing fees and other expenses. Donors receive an acknowledgement letter for their car donation and can check with the Internal Revenue Service or their tax advisor for information on the tax deductibility of their donation. |

Baubles and Bubbles Gala on October 18th at The Holiday Inn Express in Montrose. Annual fund raising event featuring an evening of fine food, wine, and champagne to help raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Montrose County. This event includes a professional photo of each attendee/couple by Creative Photography, entertainment and silent auction. Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Holiday Inn Express, Montrose from 5:30 - 9:30pm. Tables seat 10. Black tie is optional. The food will be catered by the Camp Robber restaurant. Tickets are $60 per person in advance; $70 after October 3rd. Tickets on sale at the Habitat ReStore, Kagan & Baron Art Gallery, SheShe Boutique, Watkins Jewelers and Golden Aspen Custom Jewelers.
