WORKGROUP MISSION OPPORTUNITIES Come Hike & Build! You will have a great time building adobe homes with SLV Habitat and an incredible experience in God's awesome playground. We are located in southern Colorado in the center of the San Luis Valley, the world's largest alpine valley. The Valley is roughly the size of Connecticut surrounded by the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo Mountains with a total population of 40,000 people. Our mountains offer great hiking, rafting, hot springs, skiing or snow-shoeing, and the Great Sand Dunes National Monument. We love to share adobe building and the stucco experience. Volunteer workgroups are our major source of volunteer labor as well as construction funding. The specific tasks for the workweek will depend on our construction stage and the abilities of your group. We ask you to bring leaders skilled in people coordination. Our affiliate asks for a donation of $200 per volunteer, per week to help cover the cost of building materials. Volunteers on the worksite must be 15 years of age or older. Because of the growing interest in workgroups, we suggest scheduling your workgroup well in advance, our calendars do book up early. We have a great time building and playing. Come build adobe homes and visit the forever reaching blue skies. |
