Summit Habitat for Humanity, a local chapter of this non-profit organization, works in partnership with people in need to build and/or renovate decent, affordable housing. Working within the guidelines of Habitat for Humanity International, it is a self-help program, not a charity, in which the recipients are involved and work at various levels. Each recipient is required to invest many "sweat equity" hours in the construction of their home.

 

Summit Habitat for Humanity is excited to begin construction on our second home in Summit County.

We build where we receive donated lots.  This enables us to keep the cost of construction down for the homeowner and our affiliate office.

NEW BUILDING MATERIALS DONATIONS

SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION CONTRIBUTIONS

We welcome your skills. We would love to have your work group, your church group, your community organization, even you and a group of your friends and neighbors volunteer to contribute to our building efforts.

Information packages are available for groups wishing to contribute.  We ask for a minimum age of 17 for construction volunteers.  Our primary construction work period is July and August each year and we sometimes work into September.
